Re-cycle, Re-purpose, Re-use
I spent over 27 years in the Graphic Arts Industry.
First, doing reproduction photography the old fashioned way, with horizontal reproduction cameras from the 1940’s; in a crusty dark room using hand-developed negatives.
Then standing over a light table assembling ads to run in newspapers and magazines. It was a four year apprenticeship after college, leading to a journeyman
What that means to my process.
Everything was done in layers. When computers became the tools of the trade; using layers was still paramount to creating the images I did by hand with artisan technical skills.
I love the quality of layers.
Revealing and hiding just like in people.
Some are opaque and some are transparent, most fall somewhere in-between.
Together with my love of re-purposed images and layers, I create hybrid images in ever-changing media.
I prefer to use my own images.
Most of my images tend to be “land-escapes” My mind takes me to real and
re-imagined places where magic takes place.
Welcome to my world.
I have left plenty of room for your imagination.
